Tiffany Smiley Releases New “Children First” Ad

Veterans Advocate Takes Strong Stand for Students, Parents

Pasco, WA – The Smiley for Washington campaign released its third TV ad of the general election titled “Children First.” The release of this ad comes one week after Senator Murray appeared on CNN and said she was proud of Democrats’ COVID response. Despite multiple opportunities to do so, she also refused to say it was a mistake to keep kids home from school for so long during the pandemic, despite new test results showing reading and math scores have plummeted as a result of two years of virtual learning.

This ad buy, totaling nearly 1200 GRPs, will run statewide from September 13th through September 27th. Watch the new ad here:

Prior to the release of “Children First,” Tiffany had the opportunity to sit down with Tahoma Parents and hear the concerns of local parents in the Tahoma School District and share details of her plan to bring recovery and reform to our education system. Following the meeting, Tahoma Parents put out the following on their website:

“After discussing her plan, she allowed us to share our stories and district-related concerns with her. While many of the issues Tahoma Parents expressed need to be fought by community members and addressed at a local level, Smiley was eager to weigh in and begin strategizing ideas on how she could help on a federal level. It honestly felt like we were talking to another parent who cared, not a politician (which was incredibly refreshing). . . . Considering Tahoma Parents does not endorse federal level candidates, it is clear that Smiley’s goal was to understand the concerns of her potential constituents in order to ensure the best outcome for our children.

“When Senator Murray first ran for office, she said she was running to fight for the children and parents of Washington state,” said Elisa Carlson, Communications Director for the Smiley for Washington campaign. “Now, 30 years later, it is clear that it is NOT the parents and children she is fighting for but rather the Randi Weingartens of the country who refused to acknowledge the science and fought to keep our children out of school for nearly two years. Even now, with test scores dropping, Senator Murray refuses to admit that was the wrong decision. Washington students and parents deserve a leader who will fight for them, our schools and our Washington teachers- not someone beholden to the DC teachers unions who fund her campaign!”
