Secretary of State Mike Pompeo Endorses Tiffany Smiley For Senate

PASCO, WA – The Smiley for Washington Senate campaign today announced that it has received the endorsement of the 70th Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo.

Secretary Pompeo said: “I am excited to endorse Tiffany Smiley for United States Senate. From serving as a triage nurse, to fighting for her husband’s medical care after he sustained severe injuries serving in Iraq, and raising three boys through it all, Tiffany embodies not only the American Dream, but the American spirit. She is exactly the kind of leader we need in the Senate: strong-willed and common-sense. I hope the people of Washington will join me in electing this impressive woman to be their next Senator!”

Tiffany Smiley said: “It is an honor to receive the support of Secretary Pompeo, a veteran who not only fought for American freedom, but also projected American strength and leadership around the world. During his tenure as the nation’s top diplomat, the U.S. affirmed its support of Israel, defended American economic interests in the face of Chinese aggression, condemned the CCP’s human rights violations against the Uyghurs, and brokered a peace agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates. With Secretary Pompeo’s support, I look forward to helping to restore America’s reputation on the international stage.”

Michael R. Pompeo served as the 70th Secretary of State of the United States, the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, and was elected to four terms in Congress representing Kansas’ 4th District. Secretary Pompeo graduated first in his class at the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1986 and served as a cavalry officer patrolling the Iron Curtain. He rose to the rank of Captain, and went on to graduate from Harvard Law School. Before serving in Congress, he spent a decade leading two manufacturing businesses in South Central Kansas. Mike Pompeo is married to his wife, Susan -- with whom he taught 5th grade Sunday school for many years -- and has one son, Nick.
