PASCO, WA – Veterans advocate and U.S. Senate candidate Tiffany Smiley (R-WA) issued the following statement in response to the U.S. House of Representatives’ passage of the reckless multi-trillion Biden-Murray spending bill.
Tiffany Smiley said: “The Congressional Budget Office confirmed that Joe Biden’s Build Back Better Act would increase the deficit by $367 billion and raise taxes on middle-class families. With inflation at its highest level in decades and affecting virtually everything from gas to groceries, the last thing Americans need are higher taxes and more out-of-control government spending—further fueling inflation and stretching household budgets.”
“Now that this disastrous legislation has passed the House of Representatives, a bipartisan coalition of Democrats and Republicans in the Senate must act to prevent it from becoming law. From requiring banks to report information about each of our financial transactions to the IRS to taxpayer-funded benefits for undocumented immigrants and the radical Green New Deal, this $1.9 trillion Biden-Pelosi spending spree would waste vast sums of money on things Americans do not support and move us that much closer to becoming a socialist nation.”
“Unfortunately, Patty Murray is an unapologetic supporter of the Biden agenda and Washingtonian families cannot count on her to protect us from the devastating consequences it will have for our country and our way of life. Earlier this month, voters from Virginia to Seattle sent Democrats in Washington, D.C. a message to abandon their radical agenda. This morning's partisan vote, with only one Democrat joining Republicans to vote against the damaging Build Back Better Act, proved that congressional Democrats were not listening,” concluded Smiley.
