***PRESS RELEASE***Murray Remains Mum On NTK’s Divisive Attacks On Seattle Law Enforcement

Updated: Oct 8, 2021

PASCO, WA – Veterans advocate and U.S. Senate candidate Tiffany Smiley (R-WA) issued the following statement challenging Sen. Patty Murray to disavow progressive Seattle City Attorney candidate Nicole Thomas-Kennedy (NTK) and her revolting, radical rhetoric toward Seattle law enforcement at a time they are facing increasing challenges posed by the city’s homelessness crisis, drug epidemic, and increases in violent crime.

Tiffany Smiley said: “NTK and her divisive rhetoric are so far outside the mainstream that two former Democratic governors won’t endorse her, but that’s exactly how radical and dangerous NTK’s divisive rhetoric against our community’s law enforcement is. Yet, Patty Murray remains silent about her language and candidacy as our cops are under assault in a city where homeless encampments have over taken school property and violent crime is on the rise. It’s no wonder why Seattle is losing police officers by the hundreds, they have been abandoned by their officials. It’s past time Patty Murray has her own Sister Souljah Moment and repudiates NTK’s radical platform that will further destroy public safety in Seattle.”

Liberal Seattle City Attorney candidate Nicole Thomas-Kennedy has banked her candidacy on a radical platform of stopping most misdemeanor prosecutions and making online attacks against local law enforcement. Less than one year ago, on Christmas Eve, NTK even tweeted that Seattle police should “eat some COVID laced sh*t.” NTK’s radical outbursts prompted both former Democratic governors Christine Gregoire and Gary Locke to endorse Ann Davison against the liberal Thomas-Kennedy. However, Senator Murray, as she has on so many of the local problems facing her constituents, has remained silent.

In 1992, the same year Murray was elected to the U.S. Senate, then presidential candidate Bill Clinton stood up to the radical wing of his own Democratic Party in what has famously been coined his “Sister Souljah Moment.” When will Patty Murray put her constituents over party and stand up for the people of Seattle and the State of Washington?
